RiutBag Crush

RiutBags are backwards backpacks for secure urban travel. Urban travellers can travel with valuables without concern about theft and loss. RiutBag Crush has two unique features: 1) Security: It is backwards. The person behind you cannot open it because all the zips are against your back. 2) Super light: It is so light - made from hot air balloon material it's under 250grams - that it can crush down into an internal pocket. These two features make the RiutBag Crush a secure and light backpack for safe urban travel, at home and abroad.

Fairy Feather the world's thinnest silk

Fairy Feather

The fabric, so ethereal, makes us imagine the texture of the robes worn by the heavenly nymphs in Japanese folk tales. I named it Fairy Feather: the thinnest yarn-dyed silk fabric ever. It is made of ultra-fine silk threads with a thinness of 8 denier in diameter, equaling to 1/6 of the diameter of a hair (50 denier). Thousands of ultra-fine silk threads are woven into the warps on looms to produce this exquisite organdy (ultra-light plain-weave fabric with transparency); it is weightless, yet the softness of the raw silk gently, and surely, cocoons the skin.

In a situation like waiting in line, standing or walking for a long period of time tire people out. All people want to do is take a seat. As a bag for carrying around everyday items, Xit can also be used as a chair. Open up the bag and it can transform into a temporary seat.

The Control

The inspiration gave an idea for an imaginative story which talks about a war between mankind and nature. The leopard represents modern ladies energetic, rapier wit and strong-willed image. Basic to a streamline of leopard shape, mix-matched Art Deco and modern artistic form of expression, models on clay, a sculpture which is following woman's wonderful body line. In the basis of the tanning technique, steam from an iron is used on wet leather for over a hundred hours to make the leather follow the sculpture. Then it keeps the silhouette of the leather to be stable, even without the sculpture.

Couple shoes

The design was inspired by a traditional Chinese story named "To Borrow Arrows with Thatched Boats", when two kingdoms were in a war. It was interpreted in the designer's own way, inspiring the designer to create a pair of shoes with two different design but yet consistent and connected. The designer wanted to express the story with the shoes representing a couple in a fight, delivering the story that even in hard times they are inseparable. The design is two physically functional and wearable footwear that were made with non traditional material but with traditional techniques.
