Playtime exists at the intersection of fashion design and interactive technologies. It references two key scenes of Tati’s film. Playtime explores the concept of transformation. In the context of a fashion show with sounds and lighting, the possibility for the viewer to photograph or shoot the dresses on video is rendered difficult: they will appear blurry in the recorded image. The first dress will appear blurry and the second dress will react to the flash of the camera, itself becoming a light source when a photo is taken.
The Conductive loom brings a great innovation for the textile area, uniting art, technological innovation and sustainability. It is made with conductive wires, silk and cotton. Its main element is the wire wich is produced from an environmental liability, arising from the process of making biodiesel. There are many different kinds of bracelets and bangles: designers, golden, plastic, cheap and expensive… but beautiful as they are, they all are always simply and only bracelets. Fred is something more. These cuffs in their simplicity revive the noblesse of old times, yet they are modern. They can be worn on bare hands as well on a silk blouse or a black sweater, and they will always add a touch of class to the person wearing them . These bracelets are unique because they come as a pair. They are very light which makes wearing them omfortable. By wearing them, one will shurely be noticed!
Inspiration is from Chinese Relics, “Ceramics” is the most representation which is most popular no matter from the royal and people. In my study, even today the core Chinese Aesthetic standards of fashion and Feng Shui (interior and environment design) are unchanged. They like see-through, layering and wishing. I would like to design a Qipao to bring the implication and feature of ceramics from the old dynasty to contemporary fashion. And provokes people who are forgotten their culture and ethnicity whenever we are in i-generation.
Daria Zhiliaeva's graduate collection is about femininity and masculinity, strength and fragility. The collection's inspiration comes from an old fairy tale from Russian literature. The Hostess of the Copper Mountain is a magic patron of miners from an old Russian fairy tale. In this collection you can see the beautiful marriage of straight lines, as inspired by miner's uniforms, and the graceful volumes of Russian national costume. Team-members: Daria Zhiliaeva (designer), Anastasiia Zhiliaeva (designer's assistant), Ekaterina Anzylova (photographer)
